Position Details

We are seeking individuals who want to a be a positive force in and serve our community with P.R.I.D.E. Females and minorities are encouraged to apply.

We use community and problem orientated policing concepts, justly enforce laws, conduct preventive patrols, respond to calls for service, investigate activities and gather evidence, as well as, complete appropriate paperwork and perform other duties as assigned. When directed, assist in the Brodhead Police 9-1-1 Public Safety Dispatch Center. Position description available upon request.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to perform essential functions of this position.
• Ability to possess a firearm.
• Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment.
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Clear and concise speech.
• Driver's license.
• Good driving record.
• Good physical condition.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems.
• No domestic abuse convictions.
• No felony convictions.
• React quickly and effectively to stressful situations.
• U.S. citizen
• Vision correctable to 20/20
• Minimum Age: 21
• Residency within 28 air miles of the City limits.
• Must be certifiable or certified as a law enforcement officer by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Board (LESB) OR eligible for LESB law enforcement reciprocity. 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

• Associate's degree
