Position Details

The Village of Hinckley Illinois is currently seeking applications from experienced/State of Illinois certified police officers to fill a full-time police officer vacancy.

This position would be an excellent opportunity for recently or soon to be retired police officers.

The applicant will perform duties to include but not limited to:

• Enforcing traffic, criminal laws, and local ordinances
• Provide emergency response as needed
• Write reports
• Handle traffic crashes
• Attend court as needed
• Handle any and all other duties assigned 

Minimum qualifications include:

• MUST be Certified as a full-time peace officer by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB)
• 21 years of age
• U.S. Citizen
• High school graduate (or equivalent)
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
• Valid FOID card
• Excellent moral character
• Positive attitude
• Good mental and physical condition
• No felony or domestic violence convictions
• No negative work history (IE termination for cause or resignation while under investigation, or subsequent to an investigation)
• Willingness to work all shifts (with an emphasis for night, weekend, and holiday shifts) 

All qualified applicants will be required to:

• Pass an oral interview
• Pass a thorough background investigation, including possible credit check
• Pass a pre-employment screening which may include some or all of the following:
• Physical exam
• Drug screening
• Psychological evaluation
• Polygraph
