Minimum Requirements: 

• $35 Non- refundable application fee
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Driver’s License: Must possess a valid Driver’s License at the time of application with the ability to obtain an Illinois Driver’s License upon time of hire
• Character: No felony convictions and be of good moral character (Note: a misdemeanor or serious traffic offense may also disqualify applicants from further consideration)
• Age Requirement: Applicants must have attained their 21st birthday and be under the age of 35 years old at the last date of filing applications (8/23/2019) unless exempt by State Statute 65 IL 5/10-2.1-6
• Education: Must have proof of High School Diploma, GED Certificate or High School Proficiency Statement AND have received a minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university, at time of application
• Residence: At this time, there are no stated requirements for residency declared by the Village of Indian Head Park
• Testing: Must be able to successfully complete all phases of testing:
• Must successfully complete an oral interview;
• Must successfully complete a background investigation (applicants will be required to fully disclose all personnel matters, to include agreements and sealed files);
• Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation, polygraph exam and medical physical (including drug and alcohol screening);
• P.O.W.E.R. Card: Must possess a valid Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report(P.O.W.E.R.) Card, from a certified testing agency- valid if issued between 8/23/2018 and 8/23/2019
