Position Details

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Age Requirements: At least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age as of October 3, 2019, unless otherwise exempted by statute.
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Driver's License: Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Education: Must have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
• Character: No felony convictions and be of good moral character.
• Residency: No residency requirement. 

The Civil Service Commission will conduct a mandatory orientation/written examination for the position of Patrol Officer:

There is a $35.00 nonrefundable fee for the application.

All candidates for employment must meet standards of health, character and physical fitness established by the Hodgkins Civil Service Commission. In addition to the written examination (70% of Final Score), and the POWER test, for all applicants moving forward in the process there will be an oral interview (30% of Final Score), an in-depth background investigation/interview, a psychological examination, and a medical examination /drug screening.
