Lateral Transfer Opportunity

SUMMARY:

The Ranger Police Officer enforces the Illinois Compiled Statutes and District Rules and Regulations on District lands. Responsible for the protection of the public and natural resources. Provides public relations field support, surveillance, emergency assistance, and assistance to local law enforcement agencies. The Lake County Forest Preserve District's Public Safety Department has a Community Oriented Policing philosophy and is responsible for maintaining the peace and initiating activities that build positive relationships with the public. The selected candidate will conduct high visibility patrols on foot, bike, or vehicle to prevent crime or disturbance of the peace, control traffic, maintain order, conduct surveillance, investigations, make arrests and provide emergency assistance.

EXPERIENCE:

• Completion of basic police training approved by the state and local law enforcement officer training board
• A valid driver's license
• Vision correctable to 20/20
