Position Details

The Village of Mundelein has open positions for full-time Telecommunicators to dispatch Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Service Units, answer incoming 9-1-1 calls, and radio communications.

This is a consolidated dispatch center servicing the communities of Mundelein, North Chicago and Winthrop Harbor, with populations totaling 68,000.  We are seeking candidates with a desire to work in an exciting, challenging and rewarding career field providing critical services to the community.

Requirements:

• A high school degree or equivalent is required
• Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications, including L.E.A.D.S. & EMD
• Two years of police/fire dispatching experience is preferred
• Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays
• Must be able to remain calm in emergency situations
• Prospective candidates must pass a job-related skills assessment prior to interview
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of:
• background investigation
• drug screen
• psychological evaluation
