The police officer position is responsible for protection of life and property to ensure security and safety on the Waubonsee Community College campuses in accordance with the authority and responsibility granted to sworn police officers in the Illinois Public Community College Act, school policies, department General and Special Orders, and professional codes of ethics. The position reports to the Campus Police Sergeant. This position requires individuals to have a demonstrated “spirit of service”; to work collaboratively with all facets of the college community to raise public awareness; support collective problem-solving, and engage in proactive policing activities to encourage a respectful culture while executing the assigned duties of the police officer position.
