Salary:

• $82,691 - $120,005

  Entry-Level Starting Salary: $82,691

  Lateral Starting Salary: Up to $97,001 (based upon qualifications, may begin at Step 3 in the Salary Schedule)

  Officers are represented by the Fraternal Order of Police

  The current officer contract will expire December 31, 2025.  A new contract and terms to be negotiated. 

  Shift: 12-hour patrol shifts with every other weekend off

The Village of Lincolnshire is accepting applications for both Lateral Police Officers and Entry-Level Police Officers.

Application Deadline for Entry-Level Candidates:

September 22, 2025 at 8:00 AM

The Department will always accept applications but for entry-level candidates to be considered for entry into the January 2026 police academy, completed applications must be received by September 22, 2025.

LATERAL CANDIDATES:

Lateral candidates must complete and submit the following information:

• Resume with cover letter
• Waiver and Release of Liability (located on page 6 of the application packet)
• Three professional references with contact information
• Copy of your police officer state certification

ENTRY-LEVEL CANDIDATES:

The Lincolnshire Police Department requires a written exam for the position of entry-level police officer through the National Testing Network (NTN).  For more information, please visit www.nationaltestingnetwork.com.  In conjunction with completing the test with the National Testing Network, all entry-level candidates must complete the Personal History Questionnaire through NTN and submit the following information:

• Resume with cover letter
• Waiver and Release of Liability (located on page 6 of the application packet)
• Copy of your high school and/or college transcripts
• Copy of valid P.O.W.E.R. test card within the last year

Selected candidates will be scheduled to attend the police academy at the Macon County Law Enforcement Center in Decatur, Illinois.
